THE BILL'S GARY LUCY TEASES EPIC POLICE SERIES COMEBACK DOWN UNDER IN FIRST-LOOK TRAILER

Hollyoaks heart-throb Gary Lucy appeared to be heading to sunnier shores as he switched to his iconic police attire for a thrilling social media teaser unveiled this morning.

Best remembered for starring in the iconic police series The Bill, the 42-year-old has certainly set tongues wagging by slipping back into a copper's kit 14 years since his last appearance on the show. In what looks to be a cheeky nod to a fresh acting gig, the trailer features Lucy striding confidently back into action.

Exchanging grim British skies for the glorious Aussie sunshine of Western Australia. The move aligns with the actor's recent collaboration with the Western Australia Police Force, which is a unique push to coax UK officers to work down under.

Hollyoaks actor Gary couldn't help but stir excitement among his followers with an upload of the action-packed clip to Instagram. Captioning the video, he wrote: "New role for a new police force... who fancies heading Down Under?

"If it works for the real UK coppers leaving for better weather and better pay, I can see why this copper's tempted! @wa_police anything he should pack?"

The promotional video got his fans talking as they headed straight to the comment section to share their thoughts on the dramatic clip. Some of his fans also believed Gary was starring in a new police based show.

One social media user said: "Bro! Awesome trailer! Can’t wait to see this!!"

Another said: "Boom! Enjoy mate and if they need any directors..." While a third said: "Is this a hint that The Bill is coming back or am I reading too much into this."

The promotional skit is laced with clever winks at the headline-grabbing Western Australian drive to snap up Britain's finest from 16 months back, showcasing Lucy getting ready to jet off to Perth. Sharing their thoughts on the new campaign, Western Australia Police Minister Paul Papalia are encouraging British police to get involved.

He said: "Gary’s trailer isn’t a complete work of fiction – Western Australian police officers really do enjoy better weather, better pay and the support of our community. Since we began our overseas recruitment campaign, more than 1,900 experienced international officers have applied to join the WA Police Force, mostly from the UK and Ireland.

"140 of them are already on the beat here in Western Australia. They can vouch for the sunshine, beaches and incredible lifestyle we are fortunate enough to benefit from. But we’re growing our police force and still have room for more.

"So come cop some good weather and apply today. We’ll even pick up the bill for your visa costs and fast track citizenship for you and your family," he added.
