GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2024: MICHAEL J FOX MAKES SURPRISE CAMEO AS COLDPLAY HEADLINE

Michael J Fox made a surprise cameo when Coldplay headlined Glastonbury Festival on Saturday night.

Chris Martin and his band took to the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday evening for their record-breaking headline slot. There were multiple surprises on the evening, but the biggest came when legendary actor Michael J Fox joined them on stage.

Welcoming Michael on the stage, Chris said: "Here's another legendary Michael - one who just totally rocks. With his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff, ladies and gentlemen please welcome Michael J Fox."

Michael was wheeled on the stage, brandishing a car - and he was clearly having the time of his life as they performed one of their hit tracks. Fans were also thrilled to have him join them, and took to social media to share their thoughts.

Sharing their thoughts on Michael's cameo, one fan wrote: "Is there anything more wholesome than watching Michael J Fox rocking out on stage with #coldplay at #Glastonbury and absolutely loving it!" A second added: "Omg Michael j Fox. I'm in tears. #Glastonbury." A third wrote: "Michael J Fox on stage with Coldplay performing Fix You #Glastonbury."

A fourth penned: "Turned on the Coldplay #Glastonbury set for a bit, only to see THE Michael J Fox on stage, strumming a guitar while Fix You rings out to thousands… that’s quite something. Not a massive Coldplay fan anymore but man, you can’t help but appreciate their talent for these things," with a fifth writing: "I didn’t have Michael J Fox being a special guest for Coldplay! #glastonbury."

Another shared: "SOBBINGGGG at Michael J Fox. Bawling. This is just the magic of music #Glastonbury," with a seventh fan writing: "Watching Michael J Fox rocking out on stage with a guitar with Coldplay is pretty damned special! #Glastonbury."

As they wrapped Fix You, Chris thanked Michael for being the reason the band got together, as they all loved Back to the Future.

Earlier this year, Michael - who has Parkinson's - opened up about his diagnosis and described it as a "gift". He said: "I would say it’s a gift. People would look at me and go, 'It’s the gift that keeps on taking,' but it’s a gift.

"I realised I had to turn it into something and make it some positive thing that affected other people in a positive way. So I did, I started a foundation, but it took me a long time to get there."
