ITV EMMERDALE'S MATTY BARTON TERRIFIED AS WIFE AMY'S MISTAKE LEADS TO DANGER

Emmerdale is set for worrying scenes next week as Matty Barton is put in danger.

Samson Dingle was stabbed in huge scenes last month with Matty to blame for what has happened after the knife he was holding ended up in Samson's stomach. In the shocking scenes, Samson's new friend Josh confronted Matty after he poured their paid for beers down the drain. He was furious over Josh constantly flirting with Amy, despite knowing that Matty and Amy were recently married.

Things escalated when vile Josh started referencing Matty being transgender and in a furious confrontation, Matty warned them to leave - but Josh wasn't having it. He pushed Samson forward, and onto the knife that Matty was holding. In horrifying scenes, Samson was whisked away in an ambulance - whilst Matty found himself arrested and he's since been struggling in prison.

There is no CCTV footage to back up Matty's claims while Josh threatened Samson to stick to his side of the story in order to keep themselves out of trouble with the youngster lying to the police. In spoilers next week, Matty is feeling more hopeful in prison as his cellmate, Les, has accepted him as a trans man and is happy to relay this to wife Amy when she visits.

Matty is left even more positive when Amy reveals they have a new solicitor, leaving him hopeful he could be out of prison soon. As visiting time ends, Amy is delighted to see her husband more positive and as she watches Matty leave, she is soon approached by Robbo, who she mistakes for Les. In a cruel twist, Robbo pretends to be sympathetic to which he gets the truth about Matty from Amy, who is unaware of the danger she has now put her husband in.

Later, Matty returns to his cell as Les leaves to see his solicitor and once he’s gone, Robbo arrives into the cramped cell. Matty's blood runs cold to discover this thug has spoken to his wife and he is soon left trapped and terrified in his cell as transphobe Robbo closes in on him. Meanwhile, back in the village, an optimistic Amy arrives home to tell everyone about Matty's positive attitude. Will Matty be okay?
