ANGEL STRAWBRIDGE WARNS HUSBAND DICK 'DON'T MAKE ME CRY' AS THEY ANNOUNCE 'END OF AN ERA'

Dick and Angel Strawbridge have announced that it's the "end of an era" for the family as their eldest child Arthur, 11, prepares for his final week at primary school next week. Speaking on the latest episode of their podcast Dick & Angel's Chat... Eau, Angel said it had been "quite an exciting week" for them, which prompted her spouse to chime in and say: "We have come to the end! It is the end of an era within the family."

Triggered by the thought, Angel said: "Oh don't make me cry. I'm in a good place." Dick went on to reminisce about the final days of school when children could finally relax and enjoy their free days over the summer with loved ones.

Revealing what had made them emotional, she went on to say: "I think that we are at the end of that kind of vibe and it has been incredible. This is the last week of school."

Dick added: "Arthur's last week in the primary school in the village! If you watched Escape to the Chateau you would have seen mummy taking her three year-old-along.

"He learnt how to ask to go to the toilet and that is the only French that he spoke, mummy took her little boy along and gave him to the class. Arthur was the biggest by a long way!"

Dick went on to tell listeners that he vividly remembered his wife having "tears running down" her face as she waved her little boy off into his class.

After recalling the thought, she returned to the present and told fans a "big party" at the school was coming up to celebrate the era ending.

Dick and Angel's children grew up in front of Channel 4 viewers on their popular show Escape to the Chateau, which came to an end after nine seasons in 2022.

After meeting in 2010 at a party, the couple welcomed their first born Arthur into the world three years later, followed by daughter Dorothy.

Last month, the former Dragons' Den star revealed how she fell for Dick after initially being "too busy" to find love.

Speaking on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast, she said: "I genuinely never met somebody who I knew was the one and I just had a busy life. And I just thought well if you're really the one, I haven't got time."

After meeting Dick for the first time, she saw him again at an event and that's where they had their first meaningful conversation.

She recalled: "We just sat and talked after him cooking for this huge big party of guests.

"Everyone wanted to talk to Dick, to congratulate him and talk about the food and he just came and sat next to me and we just talked all night."

On what drew her to Dick initially, she continued to gush: "He's so passionate about life, about everything. He's a story teller and he's got a certain energy.

"Honestly, even now he's got this aura about him of authority. It makes my hairs go on end, he's a very strong, powerful man, that is very kind as well and he'll do anything for anyone."

Additionally, Dick was previously married to engineer Brigit Weiner for 28 years and they share two adult children.
