SAM THOMPSON 'IN CRISIS TALKS' WITH ZARA MCDERMOTT AFTER BEING LEFT IN TEARS AT AWARDS SHOW

Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott are said to be having crisis talks following a huge row, according to reports.

The I'm A Celebrity winner was snapped in tears earlier this week at the TRIC Awards, just weeks after being photographed in a row with girlfriend Zara. Sam was comforted by best pal Pete Wicks on Tuesday while in the smoking area at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. It appeared Pete offered his Made In Chelsea star pal a pep talk as they spent 30 minutes in the smoking area together.

Reports have now claimed Zara packed up her bags last weekend following a heated row just days before the showbiz bash. The couple are said to be trying to patch things up after Sam was reportedly left distraught. It has been claimed the pair have had "little quality time" together due to their busy work schedules. They started dating in 2019 and hit a rough patch when Zara admitted to cheating on Sam in 2020.

“Last weekend it came to a head and they had a big row. It was very upsetting and they needed some time to let the dust settle," a source told The Sun. “Zara had a work commitment in Majorca but has now returned home to be with Sam and try to iron out their differences and have crisis talks. They really want to try and make the relationship work.”

Sam was reportedly set to pop the question to Zara this summer. During her trip away to Majorca, Zara shared a series of modelling snaps alongside a cryptic comment about staying positive. She wrote: “When life gives you lemons." It referenced the quote ending “make lemonade”, alluding to making the best of your troubles.

Sam kicked off his weekend with his sister Louise and her fiancé Ryan Libbey, however Zara later shared a snap of two ice creams and tagged her boyfriend. The latest drama comes after Sam appeared to be locked in a heated row on the street with Zara earlier this month, after he represented England at Soccer Aid.

Zara could then be seen wagging her finger at her man following the boozy afterparty. The couple appeared unhappy as they waiting for their taxi to arrive. Zara quickly decided to set the record straight regarding the 'argument' the next morning to shut down any speculation of trouble in paradise.

She shared one of 'row' pictures and issues a statement to her fans. "Why did this make me laugh so much btw," the reality TV star wrote. "'Stop saying you should have scored!!!! You did your best and that's all that matters!!!! You need to stop doubting yourself!!! It looks like we are having an argument but I'm actually telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate manner! [laughing-face emojis]."

Sam also decided to address the snaps in a chat with Pete on their Staying Relevant podcast. He said: "I think it's time to quash the elephant in the room. It's huge. We need to quash these rumours now before they get started. There was an article on the Soccer Aid afterparty where there were photos taken of myself and my lovely girlfriend Zara having what genuinely looked - and I almost feel like we did when I know we didn't. We've been papped looking like we're about to tear each other's throats out," he went on. "It looks I've cheated on her, it's that bad. She's pointing at me with her finger."

The Mirror has contacted Sam and Zara's representatives for comment.
