THE WANTED SINGER TOM PARKER'S KIDS MAKE HIM FATHER'S DAY CARDS TWO YEARS AFTER DEATH

Tom Parker’s children show off the Father’s Day cards they have made for their dad, two years after The Wanted singer died aged 33.

The touching picture of Aurelia, four, and three-year-old Bodhi was shared by their proud mum Kelsey. She said: “Coming up to Father’s Day it is hard. Their teachers asked me, ‘Are they OK to make cards in class?’ and I said, ‘Yes, we’ll celebrate their dad’. We put their Father’s Day cards on the side and we look at them, exactly the same as we do on Mother’s Day.”

Today, the children will be mascots at a charity football match Kelsey organised in tribute to Tom. Aurelia will even sing Somewhere Out There from Disney’s An American Tail at Dorking Wanderers FC.

Kelsey, 33, said of the match, sponsored by Grove Gallery: “We did it last year and raised £30,000 so it will be great to do it again. Aurelia has got a really good voice and she loves performing. Bodhi likes being on stage but he isn’t as confident as Aurelia.”

She went on: “The kids are both hilarious at the moment. As they get older, they are more independent and they argue more. I do think about what Tom would do in certain situations… I’m sure he would have been the strict one.”

Tom died in March 2022, a year-and-a-half after telling fans he had an inoperable brain tumour. Kelsey, who married Tom in 2018 but was with the singer for 13 years, told how she had also decided to stop wearing her wedding ring.

She said: “In the past two years, my grief hasn’t gotten bigger or smaller, I’m just trying to live with it. Taking my ring off this year felt like a massive moment but it was also the right thing for me, and it doesn’t change anything.

“It doesn’t change how I feel or what Tom and I had together. At the moment, I am single and I’m happy just doing me. I’m a single mum of two and a workaholic, so it’s not like I have a lot of time!”

Last year Kelsey told her story in the book, With and Without You. She said: “It’s been helping people get through the dark times I’ve been through. Lots of people have said thank-you for writing it, and people reach out to me all the time, which helps me.

“I’ve got the platform, I’m using it for good and helping people – and that’s ultimately what I want to do.”
