THIS MORNING HIT WITH FRESH BLOW AS HOST LANDS NEW SHOW ON RIVAL CHANNEL FOLLOWING ‘SNUB'

Dermot O'Leary appeared to have taken a leaf out of his co-host Alison Hammond's book.

The now part-time This Morning presenter has landed his own game show on UKTV's Dave.

This exciting news comes just months after he was "snubbed" by ITV when it was announced Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard would be replacing Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as full-time hosts of This Morning.

Dermot, 51, will front his new TV project, which will air next year, called Silence Is Golden alongside comedian Katherine Ryan, 41.

The series, which is produced by Good Morning Britain's Richard Bacon, will see an audience attempt to keep a straight face as a string of comedians crack jokes.

If the studio audience is successful they are in for a chance of winning a share of an eyewatering £250K prize.

Speaking to The Sun, the former X-Factor host, shared: "When a show like this falls into your lap, you can't believe your luck."

As he gushed: "Looking forward to having lots of fun."

Meanwhile, producer Richard told the outlet: "The feeling when you're not allowed to laugh at a funeral? It's that - the game show."

Express Online have contacted ITV for comment.

Dermot isn't the only This Morning host to venture out to other channels as his co-host Alison has also seemingly jumped ship.

Aside from taking over Paul O'Grady's For The Love Of Dogs on ITV, and Bake Off on Channel 4, Alison has also reportedly signed up to host two shows on ITV's rival channel BBC.

One will apparently see her spend 48 hours with some of the UK's biggest names in showbiz as she delves into their lives behind the camera in a show titled, Alison Hammond's Big Weekend.

It's also been reported that the Big Brother alum has been approached by BBC to present a travel show called Florida Unpacked, which could go head to head in the daytime schedule with This Morning.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
