STRICTLY COME DANCING BOSSES 'IN TALKS' WITH SOCIAL MEDIA MEGASTAR AHEAD OF NEW SERIES

Strictly Come Dancing producers are said to be ‘in talks’ with a hugely popular social media star for their upcoming series.

According to sources close to the show, bosses are eager for content creator Grace Keeling, known as GK Barry, to appear on the dance programme.

The 24-year-old social media star has over 3 million followers on TikTok alone, where she makes funny videos and speaks to camera. She also has over a million views on episodes of her podcast, Saving Grace.

She has also started a new podcast called The Turnout to discuss the general election, or as she calls it ‘the genny lec.’ The podcast is aimed at answering the questions that young voters have for politicians before the election, and teaches young people how to get involved in politics.

Strictly bosses are said to believe that Grace would be perfect for bringing in a younger audience to the legacy show. The show tends to have an older fan base, as according to a YouGov poll the average Strictly viewer is a woman over 60.

A source from Strictly told The Sun: "She has a huge following on social media and bosses think she would be perfect for the younger audience they try and draw in."

According to the source, booking GK Barry would not not have just a one-sided benefit, as it would catapult her from internet famous to household name famous.

Grace is not just popular at the BBC. There are rumours flying that ITV want to book her for their own flagship reality show: I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. However, Strictly producers are confident that she will sign with them, as she is said to see Strictly as a safer bet than I’m A Celeb…

Grace’s name appeared alongside a list of speculated Strictly stars for the next series. Other names that may get Britain excited include Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, newsreader Clive Myrie, and Traitors runner-up Mollie Pearce.

Mollie Pearce is also a disability advocate. She is outspoken about representation for people with stomas, which she has had since being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis as a teen. She is also a “disability model” and proudly poses with her limb difference after she was born with only one hand.

Tragically, Dr Michael Mosley was supposed to appear on the upcoming season of Strictly before he passed away in Greece while on holiday with his wife. A friend of Dr Mosley says he was so excited to do the show.
