NO HARD FEELINGS THEN? AXED MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA STAR MATT PRESTON STEPS OUT WITH CURRENT JUDGE SOFIA LEVIN IN MELBOURNE

A pair of past and present MasterChef judges were spotted out and about in Melbourne last week.

Axed MasterChef Australia judge Matt Preston, who left the Network Ten cooking competition series in 2019, stepped out with current judge Sofia Levin in Melbourne.

The unlikely duo were seen visiting numerous food spots around the suburb of Malvern, sparking speculation the two TV favourites could be cooking up a collaboration.

English-Australian chef Preston kept it casual, donning a pair of denim jeans with a matching long sleeve shirt.

He accessorised the look with a pair of trainers before draping one of his signature scarves over his shoulders.

Meanwhile, Levin sported stylish brown overalls over a red sweater.

She completed the look with a vibrant headband and a pair of platform boots.

The Culinary travel journalist was also spotted carrying a black backpack and a Canon camera over her shoulders.

Levin joined the judging panel this year alongside Andy Allen, Poh Ling Yeow and Jean-Christophe Novelli.

The foursome made their debut in season 16 after Andy was the only judge to return to the show from last year's panel.

Melissa Leong was dropped from the series and Jock Zonfrillo tragically died in April last year, just one day before season 15 was set to air.

Allen, Leong and Zonfrillo originally replaced Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris in 2020.

In July of 2019, Matt told The Daily Telegraph he learnt his contract had been terminated on Instagram after he couldn't agree on terms with the network.

'We were happy with what was being offered, in fact we had accepted Ten's financial offer to make the next series of MasterChef,' he told the publication.

'We just failed to agree on other terms,' he added.
