MARK WAHLBERG SAYS HIS SIZZLING HALLE BERRY ROMANCE IN THEIR NEW MOVIE THE UNION IS 'EVERY GUY'S FANTASY'

Mark Wahlberg raved about his sizzling screen romance with Halle Berry in their upcoming action comedy The Union.

In the movie, Mark, 53, plays a construction worker called Mike who leads a normal life in New Jersey and has never left the Tristate Area.

Meanwhile Halle, 57, plays Roxanne, his glamorous former high school sweetheart who has embarked on a radically different existence as a super spy.

Once they are both middle-aged, Roxanne reappears in Mike's life and seduces him - only to ensnare him in a deadly web of espionage.

Now Mark has gushed about his co-star, pointing out that 'it's every guy's fantasy, to think that they got a shot with Halle Berry,' in an interview with Fox News Digital

He also revealed that he and Halle 'have known each other for such a long time,' although they never starred in a movie together before The Union.

In spite of Halle's smoldering movie star magnetism, Mark said that his wife Rhea has no need to have any concerns about his eye wandering.

'I think it's a little weird anyway when you're portraying some sort of romance onscreen, it's not normal, but my wife knows that she is my everything. She is the most special woman in the world,' Mark said sweetly.

Rhea and Mark got married in 2009 after an eight-year romance and are now the proud parents of four children - Ella, 20, Michael, 18, Brendan, 15, and Grace, 14.

As for his movie relationship with Halle, Mark explained: 'They were childhood sweethearts, and they come back together. He basically waited 25 years for her to come back, walk back through that door and into his life, and it happens, and there isn't anything he wouldn't do to prove himself to her if he got a second chance.'

The Ted star shared: 'For me, that was the whole motivation of the character: just do anything he could to not screw it up again.'

In the trailer, Roxanne whirls back into Mike's life and approaches him at a bar, tricking him into believing all she wants is to strike up their romance again.

But when she lures him into a park, she injects him with a drug that knocks him out and he wakes up in Europe - kickstarting a wild adventure.

Roxanne's colleague Tom Brennan, played by a grizzled JK Simmons, briefs Mike on the mission he has just unwittingly joined.

'Two nights ago, a list containing the identities of every US spy was stolen, and to get it back, we need someone who is not on that list,' says Tom.

'We need a nobody - a nobody I can trust,' says Roxanne, explaining that she and Tom are employed by a mysterious spy organization called The Union.

Before long, he flings himself headlong into heart-stopping action sequences, including gunfights, fistfights and chases.

Their romance also blossoms again, as Roxanne fondly tells Mike: 'I'm glad it's you and me, and I'm really glad I walked back into that bar.'

In an endearing scene, Mike calls his mother - played by GoodFellas star Lorraine Bracco - from Roxanne's phone and she somehow recognizes the number.

'Ma, how do you know that?' Mike says, nonplussed, to which his mother cheerily replies: 'I always liked her for you. What is she up to?'

Directed by Julian Farino, who helmed several episodes of Entourage, The Union is slated for release via Netflix on August 16.
