SHARON OSBOURNE CANCELS PUBLIC APPEARANCE 'BECAUSE OF OZZY' AS SHE ISSUES STATEMENT

Sharon Osbourne has announced that she and her husband Ozzy Osbourne won't be attending an upcoming fan convention, with her having issued an apology over it.

The couple are understood to have been due to attend the Mad Monster Party in Arizona, in the US, with their children Jack Osbourne, 38, and Kelly Osbourne, 39, next month. Sharon's now shared that Jack will be attending without them.

The reality TV star, 71, shared the news in a video message to fans that was posted on her Instagram Story overnight. Sharon apologised in the clip and suggested that those who had purchased meet and greet photo packages would be refunded. She suggested to her followers that it was due to Ozzy, 75, being "unable to travel" at the moment.

She said in the video message this week: "Regretfully the Osbourne family have to cancel our upcoming appearance at the Mad Monster Party in Phoenix because Ozzy is unable to travel at this time. However Jack will be there flying the flag for the Osbournes."

Sharon continued by telling her followers: "Everybody who bought the Osbourne package will of course get full refunds. We would like to thank you all for your constant support with Ozzy. It means so much to him, you have no idea."

She concluded the video by apologising. The former X Factor judge commented in the clip: "All I can do is apologise that we won't be there and I'm apologising to the people we've let down from my heart. So god bless you all. Thank you so much."

A synopsis for the event teases: "It's a horror, sci-fi, and fantasy themed convention that brings the world's top genre celebrities and exhibitors together with their fans to trade stories, attend informative panels, buy autographs, and fun merchandise, and visit with old friends – and meet new like minded monsters."

The event at is scheduled to take place next month at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa from July 12 to 14. The fan convention's website states that the Osbournes were due to be in attendance on all three days.

A number of other celebrities are listed as attendees at the event. The line-up lists TV stars such as the Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal and Charmed's Rose McGowan as guests. It also features a number of horror film actors, like Scream cast members Jamie Kennedy, Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich, who had worked on the first film in the franchise alongside Rose. A note on the website states: "All confirmed appearances are subject to change in the event of unforeseen professional or personal circumstances."
