SPIDER-MAN 4 RELEASE, VILLAINS, PLOT 'LEAK' - PLUS TOBEY MAGUIRE AND ANDREW GARFIELD NEWS
Back in 2021, Spider-Man No Way Home was a colossal hit, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of all time with over $1.9 billion made at the box office.
And it's hardly surprising the Marvel movie was so successful given the incredible fan service of bringing back five Spider-Man villains and two former Peter Parkers.
Now MCU Spidey Tom Holland is expected to return in Untitled Spider-Man 4 ahead of the next two Avengers movies, but just how do you follow the last outing's epicness?
Take it with a pinch of salt, but the latest rumour leak from scooper HolyField News is that they have decided the Holland solo movie will be more of a street-level story, with a release date set for early 2026. However, Sony reportedly wants something in return.
According to the scooper, Sony wants the likes Green Goblin, Venom, Kraven the Hunter, Scorpion, Mysterio and Miles Morales to feature in Spider-Man 4. Aside from the latter live-action black Spider-Man, the other five mentioned are well-known villains.
And just like Spider-Man No Way Home, some are from other universes eg Tom Hardy's Venom and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven the Hunter. Of course, it's possible that some of them could be MCU variants, eg a Norman Osborn not played by Willem Dafoe.
Whatever the case, if they can bring six together we could see a Sinister Six taking on Holland's Peter Parker. But what about Maguire and Garfield?
The scooper added: "While also having one MCU hero appear and a multiverse ending that sets up Tobey and Andrew return for a future film. Kevin Feige wants Drew Goddard to helm the project." Goddard was previously attached to writing and directing a Sinister Six Spider-Man movie that previously didn't exist.
Addressing their report, the leaker added: "Remember I said Sony wanted a lot of Spider-Man Characters in Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4...well they're coming." No doubt all three Spider-Man stars will reunite in 2027 multiverse epic Avengers Secret Wars.
